East Africa

The CRM for East African travel.

Safari operators, coastal DMCs and agencies here run on margins, suppliers and seasons — not on a stages-and-deals board designed for selling software licences in California. Traveler was built inside a working Zanzibar operator and handles the region’s tax authorities as presets, because it was made for this trade rather than adapted to it.

All three ship as presets, each levy tagged to its own authority.

PricingNever per seat

Banded by team size. Growing the team doesn’t re-price your software.

AccessAny phone

Installs as a real app on a phone and a desktop. No app store, no VPN.

Your office in your pocket

You are not at a desk. You are meeting a lodge owner, seeing a group off, or somewhere between an airstrip and a signal.

The entire CRM installs as a real app — on a phone and on a desktop, its own icon and its own window, and the whole thing rather than a stripped-back viewer. Approve a quote between meetings, check a supplier confirmation on the road, answer an enquiry properly from a client’s lobby while the enquiry is still warm.

It installs from your own web address rather than a store, there is still no VPN, and nothing of yours is kept on the device — no client records, no quotations, no card details. Sessions expire on their own and can be ended centrally, so a lost phone or a leaver is closed off from the office in seconds.

Quotes and itineraries in minutes

Build a quotation from a shared supplier and rate library, turn it into an itinerary a client is glad to receive, and keep the margin visible while you do it.

A live operations sheet runs every departure and every team from one view — so nobody is reconstructing the state of tomorrow’s transfer from an inbox at eleven at night.

Suppliers, commissions and the money

Supplier commissions post themselves. Invoicing handles multiple bank accounts. Card details sit in an encrypted vault where the CVV is never stored, reveals are capped and logged, and the record is purged after departure.

Underneath it are proper IFRS-for-SMEs books: profit and loss against last year and against budget, the GOP → NOP → EBITDA ladder, cashflow, and up to three currencies on a live central-bank feed.

Proven on this coast

Zamani Luxury Travel — a Zanzibar-based luxury operator — runs its CRM and website on Medjay, and did so through real bookings and real money before any of this was offered to anyone else. Zamani is now also a licensed Medjay distributor across the region.

If you advise operators or properties in East Africa, that partnership is open to you too.

East Africa questions.

Is this built for tour operators or is it a generic CRM?

It is built for travel. Generic CRMs grew up around B2B sales pipelines — a lead arrives, a rep works it, a deal closes. A safari enquiry is not that: it becomes a quote, then an itinerary, then a booking, then a dozen supplier confirmations, a margin to protect and a commission to chase. Traveler is shaped around that, because it was built inside a working operator.

Which tax authorities does it handle?

Kenya (KRA), mainland Tanzania (TRA) and Zanzibar (ZRA, combined with TRA) ship as presets, with each levy tagged to its authority and posted to its own statutory account. The books underneath are IFRS-for-SMEs with a real chart of accounts, not a spreadsheet with ambitions.

We sell in dollars but pay suppliers in shillings. Does that work?

Yes — up to three currencies alongside your reporting currency, with rates from a live central-bank feed rather than typed in monthly. ⚠️ Do set a rate for every trading month: a month with no rate is the one thing to watch.

Is it priced per user?

No, and that is deliberate. Plans are banded by team size — up to 3, up to 8, up to 20 — with the whole team included. Growing your team should not quietly re-price your software, which is the thing operators here tell us they resent most about per-seat pricing.

Can I run it from my phone in the field?

Fully — the entire CRM, not a viewer. It installs as a real app on a phone and a desktop, straight from your own web address: no app store and no VPN. Approve a quote between meetings, check a supplier confirmation at the airstrip, answer an enquiry properly from a client’s lobby.

Can we send quotes and itineraries in other languages?

Yes, as an add-on: up to 3 languages alongside English, including guest documents and PDFs, with right-to-left languages set properly.

Do you work with distributors or resellers?

Yes. Zamani Luxury Travel is a licensed Medjay distributor, introducing operators and properties across the region. If you already advise hotels or agencies here, come and talk to us.
